Seattle & Suncadia

We had a super quick trip to Seattle last weekend! We had brunch with Bill, Katie, Rory, Jack, Pam, and Lynnlee at U VillageWe headed to A Night with Cougar Football with Brooke & Matt! So amazing to see so many energized Cougs, there were over 800 people there. Vast improvement from the last one I attended with half that many people. We were both very excited to see our new Coach Mike Leach and hear about our new 2012 recruiting class and Martin Stadium progress.

John headed back to SF and I headed off to Suncadia for my 1st night away from the Little Miss!I also got to see Carter-bug at Court's house - 13 months old already!A snowing mountain pass couldn't keep us away! Loving my girls chatting, cooking, just being together. Cherish times like this where you don't even want to go pee for fear you miss catching up for two minutes! We headed to the spa, ate, drank and laughed - perfection!Court and I snowshoeingSar, Char, Mac and CourtOh friends - you were exactly what I needed. Loves!

Thank you to The Eastman's for sharing their fabulous home with us! The Little Miss was of course spoiled rotten at Gigi & Grandpa Fully's house! Her bag definitely weighed twice as much on the way home with her new loot. Thank you so much Mom & Dad for taking care of our little one. She misses you both! - I also loved how my mom configured a box from Costco into a makeshift "Bumbo" seat for her with toys on the other side.

Child Care

So we missed the memo on you get pregnant in SF, get your name on the waiting list for daycare. There are 3 daycares in a 1 block radius of my building so I did not anticipate a problem - silly me. Needless to say, most facilities near us don't take infants and have a good 1 year plus wait list. So we started the search for a nanny and also looked into a nanny share with another family (which we still might pursue). Meet our wonderful nanny, Camille. Scarlett loves her which make this mama very happy. Day #1 was rough on me to say the least. She could have been Mary Poppins and it still would not have been tough to swallow. Each day got easier leaving Scarlett with someone else. Now I very much enjoy having another gal in the house to help me choose shoes in the a.m., hear about her weekend/her sister expecting a little boy, and watching Scarlett giggle/coo with her. We actually have a mutual friend back in Seattle and we let it slide that she is a Husky. :)

Sissy love

Courty was here this weekend for a super quick visit filled with mani/pedis, The Vow, laughter and loads of loving on the Little Miss.

My favorite lil Juicy loving munchkins

Just some pics

Okay so I have not been the best blogger as of late - so this one is for the family and the girls. I saved these pics some time last week and never wrote anything. So just pics of the little miss! :)

Just your everyday for these girls...

When I met Kels, I knew she was going places. So the fact that she got to interact with The President twice is no surprise. We might be on different sides with our political views but still meeting any President is a big deal.

Plus I happen to love something that makes her grin that big! :)

Kelsey and her bff just started a blog so check them out - www.ballardtobrooklyn.com

Okay so I don't have a pic for this one but the daughter of our dearest family friends, Alex, is also a pretty big deal! She has been a PR intern for the Obama administration for quite some time now. You know spending her holidays in Hawaii with them (which meant we missed her terribly at our Christmas dinner). The Fully/O'Brien Family is so proud of you Ally!

Scarlett: 5 months

I say this every month and probably will for the rest of her 1st year, but how is she 5 months! John and I both said overnight, she just seemed bigger, older and wiser. Little Miss S is still an infant for sure but oh is that independent streak starting to shine through.

I have not weighed her since the 4 month wellness visit so stats next month at her checkup.

She is wearing mostly 6 month clothes - I love unpacking her next sizes. Loved that we had this outift in a bigger size, last time she wore it was her first dinner out as a newborn. :) S has become aware of everything - her feet, hearing John's keys in the door while she is eating and whipping her head toward the door, grabbing everythings, sights and sounds on walks, etc.

Some folks have been asking what color her eyes are - still TBD. They have remain unchanged for the past few months, a deep green/gray/blue color with a golden ring around her pupil like me.

The Johnny Jump Up is a fave but mainly for knawing on.

Everything is straight to the mouth. She finds this element on her jumper fascinating, her toes are still skimming the floor in this but she can pivot herself around.

She loves to have pillow propped up under tummy. John and her have morning snuggles while I am in the shower - this is how I usually find her.

Not only does she look just like John but she has his serious side. She makes you work for those giggles. S has developed this high pitched screaching into her talking skills, she jabbers the most in the a.m.

Oh my little non-sleeper. Scarlett goes to sleep at night with no issue but staying asleep after the first 20-30 minutes has been a huge struggle. We are constantly putting her pacifier back in her mouth. She has been sleeping from 7-midnight off/on which is awesome but would love to switch that 5 hour stint to later. :) She gets up at 2ish, 4ish, sometimes 6 and then up at 7. She is definitely hungry at the midnight and 4am feedings, trying to wean her off the others. We tried doing cry it out and we all were not ready. We have a busy next couple weeks but then are going to revisit it again. She is stll swaddled at night but naps during the day have become non-existent. She has taken two naps on her tummy so we are hoping to get her liking that more!

The push up - her new favorite position.

Scarlett, I cannot get enough of you. I am not sure I will ever not grow weepy when I stare at you and marvel at how lucky I am to be your momma. You are my sunshine.

XOXO

Happy Love Day

I say this every year on this Hallmark holiday, not the biggest fan. But I am a huge LOVE fan and when I saw this on Jamie of All Trades I had to share it.

I hope you celebrate all the types of love in your life!

Daddy Daycare

My new work schedule is Monday - Thursday most of the time. Last week, I had to work Friday and Saturday so the Little Miss spent the days with her daddy.

S loves her mornings snuggled up in our bed. Miss S

I love this little bundle. This was the first piece of clothing John bought when we found out we were preggers. Scarlett already knows how to work him over as she came home with another new outfit. :)

Moneyball Stars :)

A few weeks ago we watched "Moneyball." I very much enjoyed the flick! My mother in-law, John and I were so excited to see Matt's name in the movie from his baseball playing days!

There he is -Left Hand Pitcher O'Brien, right above the flash! So cool! :)

John is in New York all week for work. Last night, he took some clients to The Daily Show (John interned there after college and his Uncle works for the show) and Brad Pitt was the guest! Oh the jealousy, 4 feet from my husband! Ahh! John reports he is tall unlike most Hollywood leading men and as handsome as he is on the big screen!

Here he is last night leaving the show. He is in another long hair phase, not my fave. I thought you would enjoy this tidbit, Mariel! :)

Scarlett rolling

Here is a video from last night of Scarlett doing her favorite thing: rolling. She has been slowly figuring out to roll herself back over from tummy to back - still not consistent enough to snag it on video! Feel free to turn your volume down so you don't have to listen to me!!
