Scarlett: 5 months

I say this every month and probably will for the rest of her 1st year, but how is she 5 months! John and I both said overnight, she just seemed bigger, older and wiser. Little Miss S is still an infant for sure but oh is that independent streak starting to shine through.

I have not weighed her since the 4 month wellness visit so stats next month at her checkup.

She is wearing mostly 6 month clothes - I love unpacking her next sizes. Loved that we had this outift in a bigger size, last time she wore it was her first dinner out as a newborn. :) S has become aware of everything - her feet, hearing John's keys in the door while she is eating and whipping her head toward the door, grabbing everythings, sights and sounds on walks, etc.

Some folks have been asking what color her eyes are - still TBD. They have remain unchanged for the past few months, a deep green/gray/blue color with a golden ring around her pupil like me.

The Johnny Jump Up is a fave but mainly for knawing on.

Everything is straight to the mouth. She finds this element on her jumper fascinating, her toes are still skimming the floor in this but she can pivot herself around.

She loves to have pillow propped up under tummy. John and her have morning snuggles while I am in the shower - this is how I usually find her.

Not only does she look just like John but she has his serious side. She makes you work for those giggles. S has developed this high pitched screaching into her talking skills, she jabbers the most in the a.m.

Oh my little non-sleeper. Scarlett goes to sleep at night with no issue but staying asleep after the first 20-30 minutes has been a huge struggle. We are constantly putting her pacifier back in her mouth. She has been sleeping from 7-midnight off/on which is awesome but would love to switch that 5 hour stint to later. :) She gets up at 2ish, 4ish, sometimes 6 and then up at 7. She is definitely hungry at the midnight and 4am feedings, trying to wean her off the others. We tried doing cry it out and we all were not ready. We have a busy next couple weeks but then are going to revisit it again. She is stll swaddled at night but naps during the day have become non-existent. She has taken two naps on her tummy so we are hoping to get her liking that more!

The push up - her new favorite position.

Scarlett, I cannot get enough of you. I am not sure I will ever not grow weepy when I stare at you and marvel at how lucky I am to be your momma. You are my sunshine.

XOXO
