Woo hoo it is the weekend!

This week flew by - I was not looking forward to Saturday because it meant my mom was leaving. Thankfully though she had her ticket wrong, she doesn't leave until Sunday! Yea for one more day!!
Morning snuggles with the little miss are my favorite
My mom brought S into my office on Wednesday afternoon for a visit!
We visited the SF Flower Market with my co-worker Nicole on Thursday to pick up flowers for an event. S loved all the colors!
While I was away at work S had some convos with Gigi in her crib
Then played the roll over game
I had to work late on Thursday night in Santa Rosa - such a gorgeous spot for our event definitely helped being away from my girl for my longest period yet
My so thoughtful bestie, Kel, sent us these adorable mailboxes to make for a sweet Valentine's Day!

We went on a date last night with our friends, Dave & Cat, to dinner where we used Savored to score 30% off our dinner then to see Fitz & The Tantrums - who were so fabulous! Absolutely loved walking out of the concert to hop in our ride waiting at the curb to escort us home via Uber - technology at its finest!

Grandmas

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late - my transition back to work combined with the little miss not sleeping at night is leaving me feeling wiped. Seriously could not be any more grateful for these two. I cannot even fathom what these past two weeks would have been like without them. Pam - thank you thank you thank you for caring for our girl, all the meals, desserts and support! Scarlett misses her Nana!

This pic was taken when we did a grandma swap on Saturday. One week with her Nana, now S is spending a week with her Gigi. Spoiled with love doesn't even begin to cover it! :) S is rolling constantly back to tummy and scooting. I will try to post some video.

Scarlett: 4 Months

This one seems big to me, 4 months old! 1/3 of her first year of life - wow it has gone by in a blink. Scarlett is rapidly changing each day and constantly showcasing one of her new skills.

Her stats as of 1/12 were:

Weight - 13lbs. 14oz. (70%)

Height - 24 inches (70%)

Oh the many faces of our Little Miss - she definitely has her daddy's serious side but boy does she wake up with a smile. She is making us work harder for her giggles - she likes new material. S is a gabber, loves to talk and talk - her Nana even got her singing yesterday.

She definitely has faces for when she is unsure, inquisitive, and oh the face she made when John and I tried to give her formula! We wanted to give it a try - oh she was having none of it and gave us a look like "don't think you can pull a fast one on me."She is loving her newfound skills for moving. Our girl is rolling - being on the floor means she is flipping from her back to her tummy. Still not so sure about flipping back over to her back when she gets there but likes to repeat the move often. Being on her tummy has never been a favorite but last night after her bath she kept trying to roll over on her changing table so John helped her over. Boy did she love her tummy then - she looked at us with a look like "Hello, all I wanted was a little cushion for my belly and elbows stop putting me on the floor." It was classic.

Her arms and legs are in constant motion. She wants to sit up so bad. S is always doing what I refer to as the Pilates 100 - her little head/shoulders raised as high as she can along with her legs while laying down. Baby girl is working on her core! She still loves to be standing and pushing herself up from sitting to standing with our support. She is so enjoying her Johnny Jump - mainly just hanging so far.

Oh sleep, how I miss you! Our Christmas vacation really did a number on Scarlett's sleeping combined with what I am told was her 4 month sleep regression plus a growth spurt in height. Our little milk monster was up every 45 minutes eating or just needing some company for about 2 weeks. We are working on her learning how to put herself back to sleep after her intital 1/2 hour wakeup. I think crying it out is in our near future. Scarlett is sleeping for about four hours, three hours, two hours off and on.

Scarlett, I fall more in love with you everyday.

Back at work

So I have made it through my 1st day back at work - not at hard as I thought it would be. Well considering I cried everyday leading up to it and a little on the way in, maybe it was the build up! A BIG reason for my ease it that the Little Miss is with her Nana at home. We are so lucky to have Nana/Pam here for my 1st week back! It made things so much easier this morning and then we continue our luck with my mom coming for next week! We are so incredibly blessed and I cannot thank the grandmas enough for helping me with this transition! I might not find leaving her with our nanny in two weeks quite so easy.I also have the best team in the world who greeted me with a beautiful sign on my door, tissue poms hanging, hugs, cards and flowers! I have missed them!
I also had to laugh when I went into the bathroom today, a bit different since my last photo in there!

Photos from the weekend

We had a sunshine filled weekend - great start to January!
S and I did a lot of clothes changing on Friday to see what currently fits her - could not get enough of her little leggies!
Let the Sophie obsession begin - equally obsessed with those little leggies in Baby Legs
We went for lovely long walk in Tiburon - we stopped at a bench to enjoy the views and some lifts from her daddy
We had a gorgeous sunset view on the way back

Baby Must Haves at 3 Months

I forgot I wrote this post awhile ago but nothing has changed! There are definitely certain items we would be lost without! While some things were necessary at certain points, these items have been staples and are used everyday.
Soothies - it took a couple weeks to interest her in a pacifier but now these are amazing for her. I love them, my mom also made an adorable clip/strap to help them stay on.
Sleep Sheep/White Noise - we started with the sleep sheep which we still use every night putting her to bed. I downloaded a white noise app for my IPhone, so wonderful! I leave it on all night and during the day at times for her naps. Love that we can turn it on anywhere!
Aquaphor - on a rec from our pediatrician we started using this exclusively for her diaper rash at one week old, it is truly a miracle product for Scarlett.
Stroller - I looooove our stroller, everything about it. The huge basket underneath, how I can use one hand to steer it out a door, I cried when we took the bassinet off and put on the big kid seat. I love the carseat attachment once I learned which way was the front - we were so those parents outside a restaurant unable to get our carseat attached. :)
Ergo - another must have for us. We wore this everyday during weeks 3-5ish, it was the only way she would fall asleep at night or not cry during the witching hours. I also find it very easy to put on and comfortable.
Brestfriend - I am using it less and less as we nurse on the go a lot but this was a life saver for my back in those early weeks. It also helps for those middle of the night feedings when I fall doze offwhile she is eating.
Burp clothes/blankets - you cannot have enough of either in my mind or maybe because we don't have a washer/dryer in our apartment. I have burp clothes in every room in the house. Scarlett is not a big spitter upper but it always happens when I am not prepared. For blankets, I love the Aden & Adonis muslin blankets for a lighter swaddle/keeping in the diaper bag, SwaddleMe for daytime swaddling now that it is colder, and her handmade blankets from both of her grandmas!
Halo Sleepsack and Summer Infant Swaddle Me - Scarlett is in this every night to go to sleep. She broke out of every blanket we tried to use at night. She used to fight the swaddle but now she recognizes it is time for sleep. I also love that I can unzip from the bottom to change her at night so I don't have to un-swaddle her.
Swing - we did not get this product until she was about 6 weeks but I use it every single day. She takes her longest nap of the day - usually 2-3 hours - in her swing every morning. I so appreciate that this swing plugs in vs. using a zillion batteries.
